PREVIEW – 6th Annual Kaabo Clay Ceramics Sale

The Kaabo Clay Collective Annual Award Sale is this Sunday!

This event is a commemoration of George Floyd and the events following his death, which led to the formation of Kaabo Clay Collective.
100% of proceeds from this sale fund the Award for Black Ceramicists!

Their Annual Award for Black Ceramicists has paid out over $20,000 to their constituents since 2021 to fund projects, activities and aid that directly benefits our community.

If you're a Black Ceramicist, membership is open to anyone identifying as a Black ceramicist regardless of skill level or educational background!

Here’s a look at the Sankofa Totem I’ve donated to the sale this year—

Sankofa serves as a guiding totem to look and learn from the past for navigating the present moment, and to also help create a better future.

I look to the past and see how my enslaved ancestors found ways to create and find love, hope, joy, and freedom out of their horrible circumstances they were forced in to against their will and divine sovereignty.

I look back and see our collective human history so as to not take my present life for granted.

I look back on everything that has ever happened since space, time, and the universe itself began their first breath of life, and it inspires me to create a better future for those that will come after me.

Pieces go live at 12pm ET/ 9am PT!

I’ll send out another blog post when the sale goes live. 🙂
