I was invited to participate in Poetic Tiger Gallery's latest exhibition, Yours Truly.

This exhibition gives an artist’s studio work – a fresh opportunity to find its audience. We believe that great art deserves to be seen and always deserves another moment in the spotlight.

The special twist: Each artwork comes with a hidden message from you, the artist. We’ll attach a sealed envelope to the back of your piece (or include it with sculptures) containing your personal response to this question: “If you could say one thing to someone living in desperation, what would it be?”

This piece had been living on the shelves of my studio for the majority of this year. They were an experiment to test some ideas out, but I just kept putting those ideas off.
After receiving this invite, it felt like the perfect opportunity to finally finish this big boy, so they can move onto their new home and life.

I also found the special twist really special, and added another layer of connection between the artist and the buyer. And I liked that it gave me an opportunity to pause and reflect on such things.
