{"id":2608,"date":"2025-01-19T09:36:50","date_gmt":"2025-01-19T17:36:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lioninthetrees.com\/blog\/?p=2608"},"modified":"2025-01-19T09:36:50","modified_gmt":"2025-01-19T17:36:50","slug":"i-hope-im-wrong","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lioninthetrees.com\/blog\/2025\/01\/19\/i-hope-im-wrong\/","title":{"rendered":"I Hope I&#8217;m Wrong"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"\">I\u2019m still trying to figure out my feelings and how I want to move forward <a href=\"https:\/\/lioninthetrees.com\/blog\/2024\/11\/19\/portland\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">since the November election<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">It feels like in today\u2019s world, things like having good morals, character, and living a life with integrity means absolutely nothing. What\u2019s the point when absolutely terrible, vile people continuously get away with their heinous deeds scot-free (and are celebrated or elected to high positions of power).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">It all just feels like a scam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"is-style-dots wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">It feels like my house is on fire and I\u2019m trying to put it out with a squirt gun but more and more people keep adding fuel to the flames. And maybe I just need to stop and let the house finally burn down.<br>I want to fix things and make things better. I&#8217;ve been doing my part for years but so many other people made a different choice in 2024 and I feel like I\u2019ve done all I can. I don\u2019t want to give up the fight for better but I just don\u2019t know what to do anymore with things as they are.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">I see history is about to repeat itself but at a potentially more drastic scale. It feels like we&#8217;re on an inevitable trajectory that can&#8217;t be stopped now, and we just need to let what&#8217;s to come unfold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"is-style-dots wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">I sincerely hope that I\u2019m wrong.<br>I love being right, but I don\u2019t want to be right about what I fear is coming\u2014both nationally and on a global scale as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">\u201c<em>Prepare for the worst but hope for the best<\/em>,\u201d as they say.<br>And I hope that I\u2019m wrong and I come out in the end looking like an over-dramatic fool.<br>And if I&#8217;m not, I hope that when The Tower falls and the dust settles from all that&#8217;s been destroyed we can then create something new and better for everyone.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I\u2019m still trying to figure out my feelings and how I want to move forward since the November election.
