In “Wild Woman”, we are children of the Earth and have an inherit wildish nature and heritage.
Wild Woman is a symbol of our natural instincts and intuition that gets buried deep within ourselves and drowned out by technology and the modern world.
She is the bridge between our modern day selves and wildish heritage, and gives us the ability to reclaim our power, intuition, and instinctual nature that wildlife still use to this very day.
Each animal in this series has a tie to either my cultural heritage or the heritage of the places of my birth and home. And the spiritual essence of each animal comes to life channeled through the replica mask Wild Woman dons on her head.

I was honestly a little hesitant about these pieces because I'm not quite sure about the addition of humans to my work.
But I wanted to try doing something different, and I think it's important that we recognise our connection to nature and wildlish selves. And maybe others will resonate with that.
