My vacation has officially started!
I can’t remember the last time I took a legitimate vacation where I didn’t fill every moment of my day with other work or constantly kept myself occupied with something to do.
I’m in a totally different headspace this time around compared to my other trips out to Utah.
And so one of my goals for this trip is to take advantage of this new headspace and not only give myself the permission to rest and relax, but the chance to practice being still—mentally, emotionally, and physically.
This trip feels momentous for me, and so I wanted to pull a tarot card to meditate on regarding this trip. I was expecting a major arcana card to reveal itself but instead it was the Daughter of Cups who showed it’s face to me.

My first impression was that of a sweet, sensitive, soft baby swan who is navigating a body of water—a river, a pond, or maybe a lake. Her mother isn’t very far off, but this baby has been given some space to practice swimming and exploring the water on her own.
I later noticed how peaceful this card is—
The water is quiet and calm, and the young swan isn’t splashing or swimming about. She is simply floating atop the surface allowing herself to be gently—and naturally—supported by the water itself.
She is still.
Still enough for the water to show a reflection;
Still enough to see what’s below the surface.
