I was absolutely delighted to be invited to Nahcotta's annual Enormous Tiny Art show!
In the past I've seen friends, acquaintances, and colleagues participate in this show, and I'm so glad I got to participate this year.
I did a collection of 6 sculptures that depict an animal with a bird friend riding on their back (or, head on the case of the T-Rex).
What I had in mind was that this collection is a representation of the different connections we can have and experience in our lives—
The connections we can have with one another;
The connections we can have with our place of birth;
The connections we can have with the land we live on;
The connections we can have with our ancestors and heritage;
The connections we can have with opposites;
And the connections we can have with the natural world.

There was an early access period and it looks like these all found a home during that time before they were made available on the website, and before I shared about them here.
A big reason why I have this blog and an email newsletter is so that folks know when I have new art/pottery updates, but for some reason I have it in my head that the work must be available RIGHT THEN AND NOW when I send out the email or else people will forget about it (I feel like that's partially true).
And I also have it in my head that I can't send out a preview email, and then a follow-up sharing that they're now available. I don't want multiple blog posts about the same thing, and I worry people will just think I'm spamming them, but how is a couple of emails sharing about my wonderful art being available "spam" when that's the whole point of signing up for my newsletter??
Anyways, if you've got thoughts and opinions on that email me at (sans the brackets): shirley [@] lioninthetrees [.] com!
