My piece is that of Br'er Rabbit, a trickster spirit/folk hero found in Black American folktales.
This piece was actually an experiment to try and do something a little different—both with my source of inspiration and aesthetically.

A ceramic sculpture of a rabbit sitting with it's head turned all the way back while also having a paw and a foot raised to give the appearance that they're stuck with tar and thorns all over their body.
It's body is done with blue underglaze to mimic blue and white porcelain, with it's lower half covered in the blue underglaze to mimic tar. And gold luster thorns crisscrossing all over it's body.

I really wanted to attend, but plane tickets from Fresno to Seattle are frankly astronomically ridiculous so I won't be able to make it. But I hope y'all local to the area can do so!
