Godzilla
Me, showing off my beautiful smile thanks to two and a half year's of braces, holding Godzilla balanced in my hands.

One of my personal projects for this year was this Godzilla totem!
I started him back in March (I think?) because I wanted a new Godzilla Minus One figure but it was too expensive for me so I decided hey, I should just make my own!

A black sgraffito Godzilla sculpture with California Poppy motifs carved all around it's body. There are gold overglaze details on his spines, claws, and toes.

It ended up taking me practically the whole year before I could actually finish him. He required renting the large kiln for the luster firing, and for $75 there was no way I was going to rent the kiln just for one piece. So he waited patiently for months until my Antler Gallery pieces were ready for their gold luster firing before he got his final cook.

I made him so early on in the year, and looking at him now there are some things I would do differently. But I absolutely love how he turned out! Now I just need to find a spot for him in my home!
