Petra

I don't even know where to begin about this horse other than I'm just so, so happy to have him!!!!!
The moment I laid eyes on him, I knew he was going to be another Heart Horse.

This is Petra, a stunning beauty done on one of my absolute favourite molds—the Altynai—and the 4th piece in Breyer's Exotic Destinations web special series!

From Breyer's site—

"We have one last Exotic Destination to visit for the year, and it’s a beauty! The ancient city of Petra in Jordan is rich in archaeological history. Famed for its rock-cut architecture and cultural heritage, it is now protected as a World Heritage Site.

Designed by artist Sommer Prosser, Petra's red dun color is meant to reflect the unique stone hues of this ancient city, which is often called the "Rose City" for its color. His splendid coat is complete with a dorsal stripe and leg barring. This stallion features “Petra 2024” in gold on his belly."

Sommer Prosser is definitely my favourite artist working for Breyer, and is the one behind some of my other Heart Horses—Peregrine and Oriole.

I knew I had to have him and I knew he was going to be a popular one. I really didn't want to buy him secondhand because the market price would be way out of my budget (sure enough, it is).
And since I only have one Collector's Club account to enter these raffles with, I got to wishing so I could have a better chance at being selected! It's nice to see I still have a little bit of luck left for this year. ✨💖

Email from Breyer that says, "Congratulations - You've Been Selected for Petra!"
