Cancer // April Printmaking Pals

April's print featured the aquatic sign of Cancer!

Cancer is traditionally depicted as a crab, and though I could've gone in that same direction because there's quite a variety of crabs native to North America. But I wanted to do something different.

When I think about the sign of Cancer, I think of—family, home, being in touch with your feelings and intuition, and having a nurturing energy.
And though nurturing is not bound to gender binaries, I do think Cancer has a "momma bear" energy—regardless of your identifying gender.

Crabs, to me, don't really encompass that kind of vibe.
But I immediately thought of bears.

And fr the limited colour variant, I chose a turquoise to reflect Cancer's element of Water.
